5:20 pm - Darren Hanlon - Manchester

Book Club Records are proud to announce our first Manchester show (with help from local promoters Hey Manchester):

SATURDAY 1ST JULY, 2006 Doors 7.30pm

Darren Hanlon
Mark Monnone (The Lucksmiths)
Lupe Nunez-Fernandez (Pipas)

Australian troubadour Darren Hanlon has toured with the likes of The Magnetic Fields, Billy Bragg and Violent Femmes. His witty lyrics, knack for a pop hook and the odd nod to country music earn more than a few comparisons to Jonathan Richman.

Mark Monnone (from Australian pop legends The Lucksmiths) and Lupe Nunez-Fernandez (Pipas) support with rare solo sets.

Only 50 tickets available! Be quick!

4:31 pm - Northcote Social Club - Sunday April 9th

Hey guys,

Who happened to be at the show that the Luckies played on Sunday?

I was absolutely bowled over with excitement. Here's a picture I managed to snap of Tali as he played the drums. I was right at the front, completely mesmerised by the group. In fact, I was standing directly below Marty.

Eeee :D

9:44 am - hey! I'm new! <3 the Lucksmiths

Has there been any word on the new-ish tabs topic?

Also, this is a little embarrassing, but are any of you talented icon makers? I was thinking part of the community could be making Lucksmiths icons.

Thirdly (and lastly) is it true that they're taking a break?

I was browsing the community and couldn’t see any mention of it anywhere so I thought it might be worth posting a link to the wonderful Lucksmiths Discography here. I stumbled upon this site when I saw the link on TweeNet and it has undeniably enriched my life. As well as featuring an Illustrated Guide to Lucksmiths Song References and (as the title would suggest) an extensive discography, it also has three full length concert recordings, a Triple J Live at the Wireless set and a bunch of mp3s from out of print releases. Anyway, hope this is of some use.

I guess this can also double as one of those ‘hi, I’m new’ posts so hello everyone.

My insider tip says The Lucksmiths are probably going to be inactive for a long time, after this tour.

Mark is moving to England, because his new girlfriend is...English. Marty's going to be a father and Tali's a little sick of it all.

Heart. Breaking.

3:16 pm - The Lucksmiths in concert tonight

I am so exicted I am going to see The Lucksmiths tonight at a local pub in Seattle. The last time they came to town in Summer of '03 it was a great concert. I imagine this one will be just as good if not better. Maybe this time they will let me buy them a beer.

Oh and also the local radio station KEXP will be having them live in their studio today at 4:30 PST (About an hour from now). You can stream the brodcast live by going to: http://www.kexp.org.

Anyone have or know where I can find online the tabs for "Great Lengths"? It's off the latest album, Warmer Corners (which is fantastic, by the way).
